Jewelcrafting Training Guide
Jewelcrafting is a profession which was introduced in the Burning Crusade expansion. Players are able to make rings, trinkets, necklaces and more, as well as gems for socketed weapons and armor. Special for any Jewelcrafters are Figurines which are Bind on Pickup and provide various bonuses. In this guide we will look at how you can train Jewelcrafting from 0 to 375. If you have any questions and/or comments, please do not hesitate to leave a comment!
Introduction
Those who have not purchased the expansion are able to use items created by Jewelcrafting, but only those with the Burning Crusade Expansion installed and activated will be able to learn the Jewelcrafting profession itself.
Jewelcrafting allows a player to cut gems recovered from mineral ores (copper, iron, mithril, et cetera) via Prospecting. Each cut gem has a color type (red/blue/yellow), and certain socketed items have colored sockets and a bonus that can be activated if gems of the appropriate color are placed in all its sockets.
It’s worth noting that, unlike the enchanting profession, you won’t be able to apply jewelcrafting to just any old weapon or piece of armor you’re toting about.
Training Jewelcrafting from 0 to 375
Jewelcrafting: 0 - 300
If you are level 58+ and you’re just starting to level Jewelcrafting AND you haven’t chosen either Scryer’s or Aldor’s faction yet, then it’s a really good idea to level your Jewelcrafting before you choose your faction. The reason is that there is a Jewelcrafting trainer on the Aldor rise in Shattrath who will teach you all levels of Jewelcrafting. This means you don’t have to keep going back to Silvermoon City or The Exodar for training. This can save you a lot of time.

Really, just make 10-15 of whatever you have the materials and recipes for. There is so much choice and it’s pointless tying you down to just one or two choices. They all take just one of each gem, so we won’t bother listing all the mats as it’s pretty obvious.
Jewelcrafting Skill 355 - 360
Your stuck with trying to get world drop recipes here. The two most common drops are as follows:
- Living Ruby Pendant (4 x Khorium Bars, 1 x Mercurial Adamantite, 1 x Living Ruby) x 5
- Thick Felsteel Necklace (2 x Felsteel Bars, 3 x Mercurial Adamantite) x 5
The Thick Felsteel Necklace is obviously the most desirable to get, as it’s the cheapest to make. There are other recipes out there to fill this levelling gap, so if you happen to get one of those, use that instead.
Jewelcrafting Skill 360 - 365
The next bit requires being honoured with The Sha’tar:
- Ring of Arcane Shielding (2 x Eternium Bars, 8 x Primal Mana) x 5
- Alternatively: You could go and farm Vekh’nir Dreadhawk’s in Blade’s Edge Mountains and hope the following drops:
- Khorium Band of Leaves (2 x Khorium Bars, 4 x Mercurial Adamantite, 3 x Primal Life) x 5
Jewelcrafting Skill 365 - 375
If you’re raiding Kharazan and you have a lot of Alchemist transmuting Diamonds, then use those to skill up the last 10 points. There’s a 60min CD on making each one, but it’s still fairly easy for a raid guild’s Jewelcrafting to finish skilling up on. Otherwise you’re stuck with using rare world drop recipes again.
Jewelcrafting Skill 365 - 370
Embrace of the Dawn (2 x Eternium Bars, 4 x Mercurial Adamantite, 2 x Golden Draenite) x 5
This seems to be the most common recipe on the AH. It’s not cheap, but if you don?t have anything else to skill up on, it’s your best choice. There are a few other rare world drop recipes that need 365 skill. So if you get any of those, then use them instead.
Jewelcrafting Skill 370 - 375
Of all the recipes available at 370 the easiest to make is probably Figurine - Felsteel Boar, but that requires Lower City revered rep. So We’ll list the next best ones in terms of rep.
- Figurine - Talasite Owl (2 x Eternium Bars, 2 x Talasite, 4 x Primal Mana) x 5. Requires Sha’tar revered rep.
- Figurine - Dawnstone Crab (4 x Khorium Bars, 2 x Dawnstones, 4 x Golden Draenite) x 5. Requires Honour Hold/Thrallmar revered rep.
Congratulations, you made it to 375 Jewelcrafting. Enjoy earning a lot of gold!
