Blizzard Announces: Arena Season 2!

The second season of the fast paced player-versus-player ladder, the Arena, will begin on June 12, 2007 coinciding with a small patch. With this new season, team ratings will be reset to the default 1500, allowing all teams to once again compete for top honors with a fresh start. Blizzard have posted additional information on the new season in their PvP forum.

Getting spammed? Right-click to make it stop

With the latest patch, “The Black Temple”, it is now possible to ignore and report players who are spamming you by right-clicking the character’s name in the chat interface and selecting “Report Spam”. If a spammer acquires many of these reports, his or her account will be completely silenced for a short period. During this period, our game masters will investigate the submitted reports and may take additional action if it is warranted. Read more about this feature in Blizzard’s Squelch FAQ.

Children’s Week

Children’s Week is celebrated once a year in Orgrimmar, Stormwind, and Shattrath City. The week-long celebration is a time to give back to the innocents of war: the orphans! The World of Warcraft Developers have finally confirmed that Patch 2.1 will go live tommorow, May 23rd, 2007. During the Dev chat earlier today they’ve commented on many player questions and concerns, including raid experience, class roles and much more. I suggest you read though it so you know what you can expect to happen in WoW in the coming months!

The Black Temple: Are You Prepared?

The Temple of Karabor was the center of draenei worship until its priests were slaughtered by demonically corrupted orcs. In the massacre’s aftermath, the warlocks of the Shadow Council seized the structure and gave it a new name: the Black Temple. Once ruled by Magtheridon, it is now home to Illidan. The Betrayer awaits challengers to his rule deep within this ancient structure. Blizzard bans 114,000 WoW Accounts

In our continued efforts to combat cheating in World of Warcraft, more than 114,000 accounts have been closed across Europe in the month of April for the use of ?bot? programs. The banned accounts were taking part in activities that violate the World of Warcraft Terms of Use, specifically, using unauthorised third party programs to automate game-play. Such behaviour not only negatively impacts the game?s economy, it diminishes the achievements of those who play legitimately.

New Changes for upcoming 2.1 Patch

The change list for Patch 2.1 was already absolutely enormous, but Blizzard has confirmed more changed for this upcoming patch.
